A two days training programme was organised by the Aryabhatta Science Centre and Karbi Anglong District Administration with technical support from the Department of Instrumentation & USIC, Gauhati University on 2nd and 3rd April 2022 at Jirsong Asong, Diphu. The entire event was supported and catalysed by Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Govt. of Assam. The objective of this programme was to make the unemployed youth of the Karbi Anglong District familiar with different technologies related to the fabrication of LED bulbs and to motivate them in creating their own start-ups. In the training programme, the participants were encouraged to design four LED bulbs each. The assembly line stages such as, compound & screw fitting, soldering, bottom connector punching, heat sink punching and testing & diffuser fitting were first demonstrated. After that, they were guided to design their own LED bulbs. Participants Forty-three (43) youths from various parts of Karbi Anglong District participated in the training programme. Prof. Utpal Sarma and Mr. Nairit Barkataki, faculty members of Instrumentation & USIC, with support from Dr. Rajdeep Choudhury, Chayanika Sharma, Hiramoni Khatun, Anandita Dey, Arnob Doloi and Tilak Deka tutored the participants in various scientific stages during the programme.
