A 3-days webinar on RF Communication was organized by the Department of Instrumentation & USIC, Gauhati University, from 23-25 January 2023. The objective of the webinar was to give an overview of Radiofrequency Communication techniques

The webinar will be organised by considering a target group of post-graduate students and research scholars from physics, electronics, and computer science.

Dr. Halappa R Gajera completed his BE in E&C in 1998 and M-Tech in Digital Communication from Malnad College of Engineering (MCE), Hassan through GATE Fellowship (GATE-2000). He got his Doctoral Degree Ph.D.(Tech) on New Approach of Metallic and Dielectric Perturbations in Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antennas to Control the Modal Fields and Its Radiation Characteristics from Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics (IRPE), University of Calcutta, Kolkata, through FIP Fellowship form UGC in February 2017. He is currently working as a professor in Dept. of Studies in Electronics, Post Graduate Centre, Hemagangothri , University of Mysore (Karnataka).

Dr. Ashwani Kumar received his M.Tech. Microwave Electronics and Ph.D.degrees in Electronics in 2006 and 2014, respectively, from the Department of Electronic Science, University of Delhi, Delhi, India. He was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, U.S.A., for his Post-doctoral research from 2016 to 2017. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. From 2006 to 2019, he was with the Department of Electronics, Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi, Delhi, India. His current research interests design and development of microwave passive components such as microstrip filters, dielectric resonator-based filters, MIMO antenna, UWB antenna and circularly polarized antennas using metamaterial. He is a Member of IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. He has published 82 journal and conference technical papers on filters and antennas .

Dr. Avinash R. Vaidya completed his PhD from Electrical Engineering Department, IIT Bombay in 2015. His areas of research are High Gain Wide-band Antennas and Ultra Wide-band Antennas with rich experience in simulation and measurements. He is the Principal Investigator for various funded projects and holds three Indian patents in his credit. He has published 21 papers in renowned journals and conferences with more than 350 citations. He has also authored a book chapter in the Springer book series. He is serving as a reviewer for various journals of International repute and also has reviewed research papers for more than 70 IEEE conferences. He has delivered invited talks at various STTPs, FDPs etc and judged various project competitions.
